CRUISE ROUTES THROUGH PRAGUE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

EXCURSION TOURIST LOCATIONS

From the surface of the Vltava River you will see the panorama of Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Rudolfinum, Kampa and other historical buildings and bridges.

RUDOLFINUM
Rudolfinum is a Neo-Renaissance cultural building on Jan Palach Square on the right bank of the Vltava River in Prague's Old Town. Its Dvořák Hall hosts important concerts, e.g. during the Prague Spring Festival. The Rudolfinum Gallery is used for art exhibitions. The Rudolfinum building belongs to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, which also has its headquarters here. Source Wikipedia

PRAGUE CASTLE
Prague Castle is the most important Czech castle (originally an early medieval hillfort) standing on a rocky promontory above the Vltava River in the centre of Prague, on Opyš Hill. Since the 9th century it was the seat of Czech princes, later kings and since 1918 it has been the seat of the President of the Republic. Twice in history it became the main residence of the Holy Roman Emperor. Source Wikipedia

NATIONAL THEATRE
The National Theatre in Prague is one of the most famous theatres in the Czech Republic. The neo-Renaissance theatre building designed by Josef Zítek on the corner of Národní Avenue and Masaryk Embankment in Nové Město, a national cultural monument, is one of the most important buildings in the country, both in terms of general national culture and history, and in terms of pure architecture. KARL'S BRIDGE
Charles Bridge (German: Karlsbrücke, originally Stone Bridge) is the oldest standing bridge over the Vltava River in Prague and the second oldest surviving bridge in the Czech Republic. After the Judith Bridge in Prague, the stone bridge in Písek and the bridge in Roudnice nad Labem, it is the fourth stone bridge structure in Bohemia. Source Wikipedia

DANCING HOUSE
The Dancing House, also known as Ginger and Fred, originally the Nationale Nederlanden Building, completed in 1996, stands on the right bank of the Vltava River in Prague at the corner of Rašín Embankment and Jirásek Square. It is named after the shape of its two corner towers, inspired by the famous interwar dancing couple Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The dancing house was designed by Vlado Milunić together with Frank O. Gehry, who was invited to the project by the investor. The interiors of the investor's offices were partly entrusted to Eva Jiřičná, a British architect of Czech origin. Source Wikipedia

KAMPA
Kampa is an island on the Vltava River in Prague's Lesser Town, separated from it by the Vltava branch of the Čertovka River. The oldest mention of Kampa Island is in the foundation deed of the Johannite church from 1169.[1] The island acquired its present form by changing the terrain and the Čertovka riverbed into a mill gully. The northern part of Kampa with Na Kampa Square is built up with residential houses and the Charles Bridge crosses it, while the southern part of the island is formed by Kampa Park. According to the ranking of the travel portal VirtualTourist, it is "the second most beautiful urban island in the world" after St. Louis Island in Paris. Source Wikipedia
